Giants Night - December 14 @ 5PM

Posted by Larry Lynd at Nov 25, 2008 9:26PM PST ( 0 Comments )

The first Vancouver Thunderbird night at the Giants game is Sunday Dec. 14th at 5:00 p.m. The Giants Night is a huge fundraiser for our Association and we all benefit by selling tickets and attending. Tickets are $16.00 each, of the $16.00, $3 goes to the VTMHA and $3 comes directly back to our team. Proceeds from the 50/50 also go to the VTMHA. This will likely be the first of 2-3 Giants nights of the season.

On Dec 14th the Peewee A2 team will have the usual 6:00 a.m. practice and then a game in Abbottsford from 2:00-3:15 p.m. Due to the other activities of the day, the coaching staff has decided not to make the Giants’ Night a mandatory team event. That said many of you will be attending with other children and many of us will still wish to attend as a group on the way back from the Abbottsford game.

Caitlin and PJ are the team’s Giants’ Reps, and will order tickets as a group. Please contact PJ (pjlynd@telus.net) if you have any changes to your ticket request, or want to order more tickets.

Oliver Tournament Information

Posted by Larry Lynd at Oct 8, 2008 9:57PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

The tournament in Oliver will follow a typical weekend tournament pattern. We will play on Friday the 14th. I’ve asked that we be scheduled late in the day to allow for our travel time, but all the teams are coming from out of town and we will take what they give us, so we need to be prepared. We will probably play two games on Saturday the 15th, and then one on the Sunday morning. We are guaranteed 4 games, but how many we play and how late we stay on the Sunday will depend on how the team places.

There isn’t much accommodation in Oliver itself, but Osoyoos 20 – 30 minutes to the south has a number of options. I’ve stayed at Spirit Ridge a number of times, once before for a hockey tournament – and the accommodation is very nice. We can get some group rates….but need to establish some rough numbers first. Please let me know how many rooms your family needs, or who might be doubling up etc. so I can complete the negotiation prior to making reservations. Please check out spiritridge.ca
